Enjoy 2 days of speakers,
tours, and workshops about Living with Nature in sustainable ways. Located just
70 miles north of Big Bend National Park, Marathon Texas is the "Gateway to Big
Bend." Marathon is also a community that is working to make itself ecologically
sustainable. “Living With Nature IV” will
feature lectures, workshops, nature tours, and vendor displays highlighting
eco-construction, off-the-grid living, sustainable gardening, low impact
development, and other arid land disciplines. Beginning with a welcome reception
on the evening of Friday August 1st at the Gage Hotel, nightly events
will feature local West Texas arts and live music. The event will conclude by
midday Sunday to allow out-of-towners time to travel home. Tickets for the event are:
$10 per day for individuals, $15 for both days (plus the welcome reception);
young people under age 18 are free. Tickets can be ordered direct from this
website by clicking on 'Sign
Up'. You can also find information and links to Marathon’s quality
lodging-places on the 'Lodging'
page. Some activities such as tours and workshops involve extra fees. |
